About Cora and Her Family

Everyone has a story and Cora’s is just beginning. She was born blind and with a club foot, but she was also born strong-willed and cute.  In her first 3 months she was taken to the shelter with her litter mates, moved to a foster home and then on to surgery. She also found her voice and became a member of the “Darned Independent Women” club.

Now her journey is really beginning. She’s moved in to the Critter Cabin and she’s now sharing life with a bunch of other rescues critters and one human. Almost everyone at Critter Cabin has some sort of challenge (except, perhaps) Fezz. Thanks for sharing the journey of Cora and her family.

Meet the Menagerie

Cora-  Spunky, blind tripod! Born 10/3/12. Front, right leg (club-foot) amputated 1/4/13 and moved to Critter Cabin 10 days later.

Floyd – High energy kelpie mix, learning to be Cora’s helper. Floyd came to critter cabin September of 2011. He had been abused in his early life and also spent time on his own. He’d bounced in and out of the shelter and foster home and was very traumatized. He’s still learning that life is safe now and not all people are scary.

Fezz- a big, mellow Maine Coon Cat who is ready to make friends with anyone.  He was rescued off the streets of Seattle by a kind family. He moved to critter cabin in January of 2011 (at about 1 1/2 years old) because he would leave the senior cats of his rescue home alone.

Frankie- Sweet and shy, Franklin survived a hard winter outdoors in Seattle thanks to his human friends. In March of 2012 he came home to Critter Cabin and became best friends with Fezz. He still thinks he needs to hold to his wild ways of hiding and running.

The Fish– Even the fish are rescues! Teabag and Bob are the biggest goldfish you migh ever see. They aren’t carp even though they are that big. They hang around and demand to be fed, and teabag will take food from human fingers.

Chris- I’m the human caretaker of all these guys and will do most of the writing although Fezz keeps trying to help

Where is the Critter Cabin?

In the foothills of the Cascade mountains with rivers, fields and mountains to explore. It’s a great place to be a dog or human if you don’t mind the rain and wind.
